It's Day 11!

The answer to yesterday's quote is Keeper's Yard.  Philip is talking.

Today's Guess the Quote:

"You have no idea how fast you are when you get like that, it's like trying to keep up with the roadrunner."

The ornament is beautiful.

So - I didn't remember reading The Coming of Spring.  As I read the first two or three paragraphs, I was wondering how in the world I had missed this little story.  However, once Riley showed up, it came back to me.  What a great tease.

How did I miss this April Fool's delight?? Three years late to the party and I love it. THANK YOU for including it in the Advent activities.

Now the picture at the top of the story has prompted a thought: I've seen enough pictures of cowboys and ranch hands - both smut and otherwise - to know that chaps feature fairly often. Do the ranch fellas ever don a pair? I imagine it could be quite the...distracting...image. This guy here clearly didn't ask Paul for his shirt.

As for the quote, I'm guessing Madison Hall, about 30 seconds before Dale gets well switched.

I really liked the Harry Potter tour.  I'd love to see that in person.

And I enjoyed the TSO video - especially when the little girl 'directs' from the top of the piano.  The kittens are adorable.

In my opinion soggy toast is not good for anything except giving it to the dog!

There are 2 Trish trivia questions that have me stumped.  One is the soggy toast reference, and the other is about the Morning Herald.  I'm probably going to feel like an idiot when Trish posts the answers, but I can't find those two references.

HA - got The Morning Herald.  It was the newspaper for Three Traders.  Thanks for the hint, Trish.

Apples as a hint didn't help - at least not yet.  I was thinking of the first essay Flynn asked Dale to write about apples.  Then I thought about Freeman's Field where Dale is fiddling with apples, but no luck.

I'll keep looking, though!

Didn’t the wassailing of the apple trees involve soggy toast?

Well done, Denice.  I did a sort of speed read through Freeman's Field looking for the word 'soggy'.  I just read it more thoroughly and found the part where Dale puts a piece of toast in the bowl and Jasper pours David's moonshine over it.

I've warned you all before how literal I am.  This is a perfect example!

Fun fact - there were soggy sprouts mentioned as part of Dale's pretty revolting Christmas dinner at school.
